Joyce Marilyn Pennington Cincinnati – Joyce Marilyn (Lutz) Pennington, 84, died at on Friday, June 11, 2021 of cancer. She was born April 21, 1937, in Cincinnati to Lenora (Toepher) Lutz and Albert W. Lutz. Joy worked in medical offices for over 30 years. She was an active member of the Monfort Heights United Methodist Church, a volunteer of the City Gospel Mission’s Whiz Kids after school program and a volunteer at Christ Hospital for 13 years earning 2500+ volunteer hours. “Lutzie” graduated from Western Hills High School in 1955 and enjoyed nothing more than going to lunch with her high school girlfriends. She also had loving relationships with her Wisconsin family and was blessed with a neighborhood of caring friends. Joy is survived by her sister, Margie Massa; two children, Jody (Craig) Ballas and Jeff (Linda) Pennington; grandchildren Jason Ballas, Scott Ballas and Lauren (Brandon) Heritage; great-grandchildren Jack and Sam Heritage; and special cousins Marylee Burgess and Albert Lutz. In addition to her partner of 38 years, Wayne Keshena, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Steven Dagenback; brother-in-law, Roger Massa and her parents. No calling hours will be observed. The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
