Obituary of Robert A Swisshelm

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert Allan Swisshelm Jr. July 19 1953 – June 26 2023 Bob was married to Diana for 44 loving years. Generous and loving father of his three daughters, he showered his six grandchildren with affection, care and perfectly wrapped Christmas gifts. Bob had a special friendship with his son-in-laws Danny and Jason. The oldest of 7 children, “Bobby” was the “best big brother anyone could ask for.” Richard, Earl, David, Steve, Becky and Nancy will miss the big hearted man who they called upon for a helping hand. Debbie, Dave, Julie, John and Dawnalyn as well as Mike, Jennifer, Betsy, and Terry counted their brother-in-law as a friend and protector. He was an Uncle to 18 nieces and nephews, and stood tall as a model of a great man leading an honorable life. A loving son, he was preceded in death by his parents Robert Swisshelm Sr., Evelyn Swisshelm and Marge Swisshelm (step-mother). After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice, Robert served as a Hamilton County Police Deputy, rising to the ranks of detective. As an undercover narcotics detective, he entertained his family with the hairstyles and vehicle selections for his profession. He was a Member of the Western Hills-Cheviot Masonic Lodge 140. He leaves behind his fur buddies Stormy and Sheba. No doubt Bob was met at the Rainbow Bridge by a long line of other fur babies and his best friend, Chuck Beatty. Bob was fiercely committed to taking care of and protecting his family. He would go out of his way to help someone, but especially his three daughters who called him to be their personal auto mechanic and for any number of home repair projects. Bob and Diana enjoyed traveling to many places across America, with a special place in their hearts for Pawley’s Island, South Carolina. In his later years, Bob received health diagnoses that took away some of his ability to do the things he loved. He pushed through and gave us 9 bonus years. We wished for more but we feel so very thankful for the extra time we received. He will be immensely missed. We all feel a little lighter these days as he took a piece of our hearts with him to heaven.
